Christopher and Michelle Hays, Missionaries to Colombia

At Valley Church our aim is to engage in the global Gospel movement in a variety of ways.  We maintain relationships with career missionaries sent out from Valley, with qualified national leaders through resourcing in partnerships, and with affiliate workers whose mission and values align with those of Valley Church.

We encourage participation in our congregation, and offer opportunities to serve internationally on short-term bases in places like Mexico and Germany.

Restricted Access Ministry: For the safety of the missionaries we support, we can not disclose their names. Please pray for their relational evangelism efforts in an environment often hostile to Christianity.

PARTNERSHIP WITH QUALIFIED NATIONAL LEADERS

  • Evangelical Free Church of Rwanda, a church planting movement of 65 local churches led by EFCR President Thaddee Habarurema. Major areas of focus have included significant investment in Pastoral/leadership training through conferences led by Valley pastors, ongoing holistic ministry projects (cyber café, vocational school), encouragement and friendship, outreach to marginalized and disenfranchised (pygmies, those in abject poverty).

  • ReachAfrica – President Nubako Selenga (former President of the 900-church Evangelical Free Church of Congo) leads this movement to train church planters to go to the unreached areas of Africa, including Central African Republic, Togo, Sierra Leone. The movement is rapidly expanding to include several areas of East Africa.

  • Friendship and encouragement to church planters in the city of Berlin, Germany.  This is considered post-Christian as well as unreached by many missiologists.  Qualified national leaders provide the thrust of this movement in a city with growing global influence.

DEVELOPING MINISTRY

COMPASSION HONDURAS - In 2021 Valley Church began partnering with Compassion International in San Isidro, Honduras, funding the launch of a new Compassion Project, and taking responsibility for sponsoring the first 100 children in the program via individual members of Valley.

Each sponsored child receives a myriad of services including academic tutoring, personal hygiene coaching, nutritious food and clothing assistance, medical care and Christ-centered spiritual discipleship in the context of a loving local church family. LOCAL JUSTICE PROJECTS:

  • THE LEAVEN at Alamo Gardens – In partnership with The Leaven, we fund, sponsor and staff an extensive tutoring and life skills program in one of Vacaville’s most challenged neighborhoods at Alamo Gardens Apartments. Since launching the program, our police department reports there has been a 50% decrease in crime and calls for service, and many families have been introduced to the love of Christ. If you are interested in volunteering at our site, please contact Site Director Deede Cain at 707.718.5210 or deedecain@aol.com. You can also discover more about The Leaven at www.myleaven.com.

  • HOMELESS MINISTRY – For years, Valley has been a leading force in the quest to minister to our homeless neighbors. Focusing on much more than a mere handout, we are diligent to seek holistic and systemic opportunities that give these citizens of Vacaville a true “hand-up.” Through such efforts as our Homeless Navigator program (seeking to align people with resources, housing, employment, friendship and rehabilitation), our nomadic sheltering during winter months, employment advocacy, etc., our desire is to help as many as possible re-emerge as citizens with a job, address and sense of dignity.

  • ALPHA CLINICS – As a compassionate community of faith, our longstanding partnership with Alpha Clinics provides us with opportunities to minister to women, couples and families facing difficult decisions due to unplanned pregnancy. Through financial and volunteer support of Alpha, we are ale to provide hundreds of local people every year with safe, medically professional, non-judgmental, Christ-centered counseling that not only encourages the decision to choose life, but seeks to provide ongoing resources and support for parents and children through early childhood development. You can learn more about Alpha Clinics at www.supportalphaclinics.org.
