Ezra 7:10 'For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord, and to practice it, and to teach His statues and ordinances in Israel .'

1 Chronicles 12:32 “And the sons of Isschar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do…”

1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 25 And everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; 27 but I buffet my body and make it my slave, lest possibly, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.

Pastor Andy Bernard

Name: Andy Bernard

Wife: Absolutely! (Yeah, her name is Sally)

Kids: Ella Elizabeth & Avery Blue (My twin girls!) & Creighton Dean (our most recent addition!)

Position: Worship Arts Pastor

Background: Sally and I are from the Midwest.  If you can’t tell from our accent, you might get the idea from me wearing short sleeve shirts all year round.

I first made Jesus a part of my life when I was in elementary school, but I truly dedicated my life to his purposes in early high school.  And I have not turned back.  After receiving a degree in music and a degree in business in 1994, (and more importantly married Sally), I worked for two years in benefit outsourcing & consulting in the Chicago area.  These two years I found myself working many hours and with more passion in the church.  I realized at that point that God was leading me in a different direction.  Sally and I were soon headed to Michigan where I began working full time as a Worship Arts Pastor.  Fast forward eight years of great relationships and personal growth in Michigan and God takes us where?  CA.  We’ve been in CA since 2004, and are looking forward to what God has in store for us and Valley Church.

One thing people may not know about me: I really enjoy cooking, which is a good thing because Sally doesn’t.  My specialties include roasted beef tenderloin with bordelaise sauce, and crab cakes.  This year’s specialty -- braised beef short ribs over tagliatelle.

Passions: The church - seing what God can do when people come together in unity and seeing the impact it has on their lives and community! Also, seeing people make a connection with Jesus.

Favorites: Sprecher Root Beer (you'll never have any better), chocolate shake made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, Chicago Bears, Cubs, & Bulls

Likes: Food Network, ESPN, submarine movies, Tom Clancy, the dentist- yeah right.

Loves: all my girls and boy!

Pastor Jeremy White

Name: Jeremy White

Wife: April

Kids: Justin, Jesse & Jacob

Position: Pastor of Student Ministries

Background: A native Californian, I was born in Orange County and my family moved to Northern California when I was a child.  My parents became Christians during the Jesus Movement of the 1970’s, and I received Christ as a child in 1982.  After a turbulent spiritual experience as a kid, I consecrated myself to serve Christ during a Mexico outreach that I reluctantly agreed to be a part of as a sophomore in high school.  After that life-changing experience, God began to use my youth pastor in a HUGE way to disciple me during my high school years and I began to sense a call to vocational student ministry.  God confirmed this calling for me through serving on staff at a church in Southern Oregon, where I also met my wife (not at church – at Denny’s).  After three years in Oregon, my wife and I returned to Redding so that I could attend Shasta Bible College.  During and after attending Bible College, I also served on staff as youth pastor at a church in Redding, where I remained for more than 7 incredible years.  My B.A. is in Bible and Theology with an emphasis in youth ministry.  I hope to pursue a Master’s Degree in the next few years.

Over the summer of 2005, God directed my family and I to move to Vacaville, where I now serve as Pastor of Student Ministries.  We love this church, these students and this community and hope to remain here for a long time!

One thing people may not know about me: As a child growing up in the 80’s, I had a mullet and I hope they come back in style some day…

Passions: Pursuing an authentic relationship with Christ, leading worship and teaching the Bible, and attempting to be a true friend to people.

Favorites: Denver Broncos, LA Lakers, Diet Coke, The Karate Kid 1 & 2, Napoleon Dynamite, rock-n-roll, Jelly Belly & mint Skittles candy

Likes: Exercising, playing paintball, fishing, driving, shopping at thrift stores, watching Hannity & Colmes

Loves: Jesus, my wife and kids, hanging out with students, finding a good deal, sports (watching & playing), collecting John Elway stuff, reading theology books

Describers: I love to laugh like crazy and to pursue loving my wife and raising boys that will be truly masculine and wild-at-heart lovers of God!
