AWANA

What is AWANA?

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.
Our goal is to help you train your children to walk in God’s pathways, rather than those of the world. The AWANA program is part of a worldwide ministry headquartered in Streamwood, Illinois. AWANA here at Valley church is built around a two hour Club meeting every Tuesday evening (Sept. - May) from 6:30-8:30pm.

Club nights are divided into three main components: Game time, Handbook time, and Council time.

While AWANA has many things to interest boys and girls, such as games and special activities, the heart of the program is bible memory work. The clubber handbooks contain an average of 90 verses. These have been carefully chosen in order to establish doctrinal truths. Trained leadership will find many opportunities to apply these truths to the daily experiences of the kids. The extensive award system, uniforms and handbooks are primarily designed to motivate the memorization of scripture verses.
